Have you ever wondered where to find the websites that show what real life looks like? Or have you ever searched for a website that looks a little more like your own life? We have. Because we know that real life is messy, and it doesn't always smell good. Sometimes it has sticky fingerprints and lollipops with dog hair on them. We have the scorched pot from a simmer that went wrong or had to order a pizza because the grill flared up and the steaks are now charcoaled. But, when we look on line for new recipes or decorating ideas, all we see are amazing pictures. Houses that don't look lived in, perfect and clean. Kitchens that shine and you just know that no one cleaned their cleats in the sink there. These pictures are beautiful, and every now and then a little  clean-house envy tries to sneak into our day.  Then we remember how much life, laughter and love happens inside these sticky walls. Our houses are lived in. We have more than enough kids running around leaving their mark in every corner of each room. Our husbands have an uncanny ability to leave a trail behind them. Tools. Socks. Crumbs. Somehow all three can appear at the same time, in the same space. And then, there is always something, somewhere that we just haven’t gotten to yet (Mine is usually a mountain of laundry)! The truth is, no two homes are alike. Some sparkle every day. Others wear the fingerprints of busy families. Neither tells you how much love lives inside.  So, when we couldn't find a place that looked like home, we decided to create one. A little corner of the internet where women like us can stop by, laugh at life's imperfections, swap recipes and ideas, and remember that a home doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful.

Just Two Cousins

We are so glad you dropped by.
The thing my cousin and I love doing more than anything else in the world, is sharing! We share recipes, cleaning tips, gardening advice, relationship counsel, and so much more! But the thing we love sharing the most is our time.

Ask us how to do something, and we will walk you through step by step. Tell us you need help with something and we will stop whatever we are doing and give you all of us. Or call and say you need to sit on the porch for a minute, and we will greet you in the driveway with a hug....

We didn't invent this way of living. We learned it from three remarkable women... our moms, and our grandmother.

They were always there for each other, our families shared every holiday together and almost every Sunday of our childhood we ate dinner together.

Learning to make time for the people you care for was something we learned by watching them. Looking back, they somehow made motherhood look effortless. Today we know how much love, sacrifice, and quiet work happened behind the scenes. And we are so very grateful for the things they taught us.

Whether you came looking for a recipe, a gardening tip, a good story, or simply a quiet place to rest for a while, we hope you'll feel at home here. Our hope is that you will sit a while with us, enjoying a little time on our front porch. Go on, pull up a chair and we’ll put the kettle on!
